COMMANDER:
We will have our 9th Annual Car
Show fundraiser for Boys and
On the 17th of September we will observe
POW/MIA Recognition Day. Observances of National
POW/MIA Recognition Day are held across the country
on military installations, ships at sea, state
capitols, schools and veterans' facilities. Our
program will start at
FIRST VICE COMMANDER:
We are currently at 45% with 485 members
including renewals, new members and transfers for
the 2011 membership.
Our goal is still 1,067. If you haven’t
renewed please do so and help us meet our goal.

Look forward to seeing everyone at the Labor Day
picnic on Sunday, Sept. 5th from
The karaoke contest ended Aug. 28th with 7 finalists
that will face off at the Post car show on Sept.
4th. So far
we have raised over $250 to go to support Boys/Girls
State so thank you to all that have come out and
supported these programs.
New Years
Eve is just around the corner, and tickets for the
Post party will go on sale in Nov. so plan on
ringing in the New Year with us. For God and

SERVICE OFFICER:
I had one request for financial assistance from a
homeless veteran at the end of July, to assist with
housing. $472.64 was paid from the Service Officers
Fund. One claim was made for an increase in veteran
benefits, to be filed with VA once the veteran
receives his health records. The Charity Fund
Committee was formed with the following members:
Ray Steckman – Chairman, Alonzo Scott
–Assistant Chairman, Don Gotta, Victoria Bell, Mary
Lee Lupejkis, Carl Carney, Tony Moore, and Bob
Perkins.
A fully equipped DAV National Service Office
on wheels will be making the following stop to help
with benefits at no cost,
I would like to thank everyone who has helped with
the Sunday Snacks. Please sign up to prepare snacks
on a Sunday.
The sign-up sheet is on the board near the
bath rooms. $50.00,
is allotted to purchase food needed to make snacks.

I’m sorry to report that we will transfer
Michael Eschweiler to Post Everlasting on 14
September at
SQUADRON 327 COMMANDER:
Greetings Comrades, Well, summer is about over and
the kids will be heading back to school. Please be
careful driving as there will be a lot of little
ones running around waiting for the buses. This year
we again bought a lot of school supplies for the
“Stuff the Bus” campaign to help our children in
need. We also bought over $200.00 worth of food to
put in the care boxes the Post sent out to our 3
members serving on the Harry S. Truman. Please keep
them and all our service men and women in your
thoughts and prayers. We still don't have a
confirmed date for the Wrestling Fundraiser planned
for the Fall. I am trying for November 6th at
ALA PRESIDENT:
Hello
Auxiliary Members, First and foremost, I wanted to
spread the exciting news in case you did not know,
we were told that our very own T. Anne Starke will
be running for our Department of Virginia President
in the year 2012-2013. This is very exciting, and we
are going to be doing some special events to help
raise money for her year in this office.
Congratulations Anne.
I know you
will do a wonderful job!
Our Unit 327 Uniform was decided that we
would wear Dark Blue pants or skirt, White collar
blouse (no t-shirt) and red scarf. Those who have
the vest with pins can wear the vest but this is not
mandatory.
It was a great feeling to have 6 of our
Auxiliary members Graduate from
ASSOCIATION:
Thanks to everyone who came out and worked on
the back 40.
You did a wonderful job and it is much
appreciated.
