I would like to thank all the past officers over the years for all their support they gave me in helping this squadron to become one of the best in State and Nation. To all  of our members, thanks for letting me serve you. It has been a great ride and we have come a long way, winning many State and National Awards. We have gotten the respect we deserve, do to all the Community service and Donations we have made. I encourage everyone to continue your support to the newly elected officers. I'm sure Rocky is going to do a great job as Commander, and as your Chaplin he has God on his side for guidance if needed. I  am going to try and recharge my batteries, taking a little time off, while still working at the Detachment and National level. Thanks again and keep up the good work. ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT:  SPECIAL CHARITY FUND - The last phrase of the Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion states “to consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.”  The Post 327 Legion family is made up of members of Post 327 and families, members of the Legion Riders and families, members of the SALs and families and members of the ALA and families.  It is with the “devotion to mutual helpfulness” in mind, that the “SPECIAL CHARITY FUND” has been created with seed money provided by a very generous donation from the Association.  Any member of the Post 327 Legion family may make a donation to this fund at anytime.  Remembering that the Legion likes to “take care of its own”, that will be the focus of this fund – to assist any member of the “Post 327 Legion family” with unexpected financial problems based on established criteria.  A screening committee has been established to review all such requests.  For God and Country, Don Gotta

There will be a FIELD DAY on Saturday, 12 June 2010 from 0800-1200.  We need to work the areas behind the sheds and the fence rows, as they are really getting out of control.  Please bring step ladders, hand tools, electric trimmers, rakes and wheel barrows.  It is highly recommended to wear long sleeve shirts and long pants as there is poison ivy, and God knows what else is living there.  There will be cool refreshments after the work is completed.  For God and Country, Larry Turner.

EDITOR:   There will be an NJROTC awards ceremony at Norfolk Naval Base on Thursday, 3 June from 9-11:00 a.m. Please attend if you have the time.
