AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY PRESIDENT:  Hello.  As your new Auxiliary President, I would like to thank all of you for your future support for the upcoming year.  One person does not do all the work.  It takes everybody to accomplish what needs to be done.  We are a family at Post 327, and the Auxiliary is there to help everyone.  If you need anything please feel free to contact us at the Legion.  Our meetings are the first Tuesday of the month at 8:00 p.m.  Ladies, we will not have a meeting this month, but there will be a meeting in August.  The first weekend of each month we have the Friday night dinner and weekend tickets.  We will not serve dinner on the 4th of July.  If anyone is interested in helping it would be greatly appreciated.  As with all our members, we have over 25 new members, we look forward to seeing you at our meetings so everyone can learn what the Auxiliary is about.  Don’t forget the 4th of July picnic.  There will be a“slip and slide” for the children (Please bring towels).  The Auxiliary’s convention is in Falls Church July 10th-13th.  Please renew your membership at the picnic to get your “Early Bird” stamp.  The ALA Juniors’ meeting will be on Sunday, 27 July, right after the ALA Juniors breakfast.  I hope to see you all at the picnic.  For God and Country, Nancy Bell

ASSOCIATION CLUB MANAGER:  FYI:  All beverages consumed on the premises MUST be purchased from the bar.  NO outside beverages are allowed, i.e., no sweetened tea from MacDonalds, Hardees, or home, etc.  This is in compliance with ABC regulations.  Something new at our 4th of July picnic - a slip-n-slide for the older children and a kiddie pool for the little ones, so please be sure to bring your swimsuit and towels.  This should be a lot of fun for the kids and will be available for use from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m.  Reminder:  Anyone working in the kitchen MUST have a Food Handlers card.  Hope you are having a wonderful summer.  For God and Country, Sandra Wright

HUMOR:  From my email:  Two women were playing golf.  One teed off and watched in horror as her ball headed directly toward a foursome of men playing the next hole. The ball hit one of the men.  He immediately clasped his hands together at his groin, fell to the ground, and proceeded to roll around in agony.  The woman rushed down to the man, and immediately began to apologize.  “Please allow me to help.”  “I'm a Physical Therapist, and I know I could relieve your pain if you'd allow me.”  She told him.  “Oh no, I'll be fine in a few minutes.” The man replied.  He was in obvious agony, lying in a foetal position, still clasping his hands together at his groin.  At her persistence, however, he finally allowed her to help.  She gently took his hands away and laid them to the side, loosened his pants and put her hands inside.  She administered tender and artful massage for several long moments and asked, “How does that feel?”  He replied:  “It feels great, but I still think my thumb is broken.”

EDITOR:  The 17th Annual Ocean View Crab fest will be held on Saturday, July 19th from NOON until 7:00 p.m.  Come out and enjoy good food, good music, and have a good time with family and friends.  Don’t forget to register for American Legion College ASAP.  Please continue to report any community service hours, miles, and all expenses/contributions that you have made.  May God bless each and every one of you with good health and happiness.  For God and Country, B.J. Miller
